Conkling and Foster CPA – Legit or Scam?

I came across a critical review of Conkling and Foster CPA on a Scam Reporting website – DirtyScam.com, titled ‘Tax Services’.

DirtyScam allows anonymous submission of complaints from angry consumers and victims of scams. Since the website is hosted offshore (probably in Russia or India), we take this (negative) review against Conkling and Foster CPA with a pinch of salt.

Here is what the review says –

I will never recommend Conkling and Foster CPA to anyone. My husband & I had our taxes done here for the past 3 tax years. We were audited for 1 tax year.After returning back to this CPA for review; they were kind enough to inform us that not only had they screwed up the tax year we were audited but that that they had screwed up the other 2 tax years and that we had to pay the IRS approximately $5000.00.Gee how generous they were to do the paper work for our audit & correct our returns and refused to pay the amount that we owed to the IRS because of their mistakes.They paid the interest & penalties and never offered us a refund for screwing up our taxes much less a discount if they prepared our taxes again.After filing our taxes this year we find out that Conking & Foster lied to us about the mistakes to our face.They covered up their 3 years of errors to say it was “a simple mistake on their part”.They honestly had the nerve to send us an appointment card. I am so angry over the way they conduct business.They have no compassion for their clients when they screw up your taxes and can’t tell you the truth.This matter is not over yet and will be investigated at a much higher level. I wouldn’t have given them any stars.

It is difficult to ascertain whether Conkling and Foster CPA is a Scam, or Legit, based on this single review. In the coming weeks/days, I will try to research deeper into Conkling and Foster CPA, analyze and list more critical reviews and identify a pattern (or lack of) to substantiate the claim mentioned above.

Regardless, until then, we give the benefit of doubt to the reviewer and list Conkling and Foster CPA as someone you need to avoid (for now).
