I came across a critical review of David Koehler, CPA on a Scam Reporting website – DirtyScam.com, titled ‘Worst Excuse’.
DirtyScam allows anonymous submission of complaints from angry consumers and victims of scams. Since the website is hosted offshore (probably in Russia or India), we take this (negative) review against David Koehler, CPA with a pinch of salt.
Here is what the review says –
OMG, people. Worst excuse for a Tax preparing outfit, ever. I trusted them when they advised me to give them my banking info so they could set me up with future quarterly tax payments to be electronically withdrawn. On the IRS side, it went fine.On the STATE level, Toby Koehler apparently “forgot to enter the information. So last year, I had a lot of traveling to do for work and personal bereavement, which is why I figured trusting the “pros and having everything set up online would be helpful.Last year went very fast and stressful, I trusted that my taxes would be electronically paid on time, the way Toby had promised. There were issues I could not understand, discrepancies in my banking so I called Koehler & associates for help. I left several messages.I never got a single call back.I took my business elsewhere, but my last year state taxes are still completely muddled, the CA franchise tax board keeps sending me increasingly threatening letters. So I got help from my current tax person, who thankfully is as knowledgeable as she is ethical.Turns out Toby never put in my banking info for the CA Franchise tax board to withdraw their dues.So today, I owe $4200 in last year dues.Oh, I did get a call from Koehler eventually To remind me that I needed to go see them for my next return, lol.So apparently, at Koehler and Associates, you pay for stress and getting screwed.Their fees do not include customer service, they will not call you back, and you will be left dealing with the consequences the following year.Oh but they will call you to remind you to trust them again the following year.I will file a complaint with, obviously. But I am screwed to the tune of $4200, which is very difficult for me to come up with But I supposed if I lied to my clients and took their money to screw them instead of doing my job ethically, like Koehler does, I would have no trouble coughing up $4200.Come to think of it, youd be better off trust Donald Trump to do your taxes than this pathetic, sleazy excuse for a tax outfit.
