Ditech Funding – Legit or Scam?

I came across a critical review of Ditech Funding on a Scam Reporting website – DirtyScam.com, titled ‘Very Poor Customer Service’.

DirtyScam allows anonymous submission of complaints from angry consumers and victims of scams. Since the website is hosted offshore (probably in Russia or India), we take this (negative) review against Ditech Funding with a pinch of salt.

Here is what the review says –

Very poor customer service. After years of a mortgage loan with Ditech Funding I sold my house and the mortgage was paid off on February 28.They also closed my account that day then took out another mortgage payment on March 1.I called customer service and was told that it was the banks fault.After I talked with my bank and learned it was Ditech’s auto pay problem.So, I called customer service back and was told that my 1341.00 was put into a slush fund!They would have their audit department sort it out and would refund me a check by mail in 30 days!I needed that money for my move, and I told them.They said I was supposed to give a 10 day notice before they stopped my auto pay, but my home was in escrow and I couldn’t give them a 10 day notice, but they would not credit my money back to my bank.I will not be using them for my new mortgage !Especially when their customer service would rather argue and talk over me then try to help me solve my problem.

It is difficult to ascertain whether Ditech Funding is a Scam, or Legit, based on this single review. In the coming weeks/days, I will try to research deeper into Ditech Funding, analyze and list more critical reviews and identify a pattern (or lack of) to substantiate the claim mentioned above.

Regardless, until then, we give the benefit of doubt to the reviewer and list Ditech Funding as someone you need to avoid (for now).
