Dr. Dao Kim – Legit or Scam?

I came across a critical review of Dr. Dao Kim on a Scam Reporting website – DirtyScam.com, titled ‘The Staff Is So Rude’.

DirtyScam allows anonymous submission of complaints from angry consumers and victims of scams. Since the website is hosted offshore (probably in Russia or India), we take this (negative) review against Dr. Dao Kim with a pinch of salt.

Here is what the review says –

Wanted to update his location and say he moved his office to this location 2360 McKee Road, Suite 4 San Jose, California 95116.All the reviews have one thing in common.. unprofessional staff and his wife. I wouldn’t recommend anyone going here because the staff is so rude.I encountered unprofessional behavior at their office today (January 26, 2018) at 4:00 PM PST. I came into their office to request for my medical records.Right when I walked in, I walked to the counter and stood there for a bit.I wasn’t asked if I needed help. One of the receptionists there told me to sign in very rudely.I answered, I’m here to request my records. She then proceeded to ask me for my name and birthday.I gave it to her and she asked me whose my doctor so they can send it to them.I said I currently don’t have a doctor right now. She replied, okay.. so why do you need a copy of your record? I said because I want one for myself.Then she proceeds to look at my file, like she knew what she was doing. She starts taking out paperwork and says I’m sorry, I can’t give you a copy of your chart but I can give you a copy of your blood results.I said, no I want a copy of my whole chart, including the chart notes.The receptionist, then asked me the paperwork with the doctor’s notes? I replied, yes.This is when she didn’t know what to do and got the doctor’s wife (Mrs. Dao) to come out and speak to me.I can’t believe how rude she was to me. She was like I’m sorry you can’t get your copy of records today.I said that’s fine, I know it takes a some time. (I already knew this because I’m a medical assistant myself so I know the rules).Mrs. Dao then proceeded to say okay, you just need to sign a paper saying you’ll pick it up.I said okay, see that was easy. Then why did the receptionist give me such a hard time then? Mrs. Dao allowed the receptionist to yell at me in front of a bunch of patients and Mrs. Dao did the same and yelled at me in front of patients.I’ve been going to Dr. Kim Dao for a long time since he was my family doctor as a child.Mrs. Dao had the nerve to say I remember you, you’re usually nice, I don’t know why you’re mean today.Can’t express how much to avoid this office as much as possible!The doctor is nice, I just can’t say for his staff and his wife.The younger, tall receptionist is nice but the older, short receptionist is very rude and needs to learn some manners again, same for Mrs. Dao.

It is difficult to ascertain whether Dr. Dao Kim is a Scam, or Legit, based on this single review. In the coming weeks/days, I will try to research deeper into Dr. Dao Kim, analyze and list more critical reviews and identify a pattern (or lack of) to substantiate the claim mentioned above.

Regardless, until then, we give the benefit of doubt to the reviewer and list Dr. Dao Kim as someone you need to avoid (for now).
