I came across a critical review of Fachner Accounting Group, Inc. on a Scam Reporting website – DirtyScam.com, titled ‘Unreasonable Fee’.

DirtyScam allows anonymous submission of complaints from angry consumers and victims of scams. Since the website is hosted offshore (probably in Russia or India), we take this (negative) review against Fachner Accounting Group, Inc. with a pinch of salt.

If you visit Fachner & Layman, CPAs, Inc. in Campbell, CA, make sure to have the total final fee in writing.Otherwise you will surprise to pay an extra unreasonable fee at the end. First year he charged me for $375.00 because I had the loss of stocks claim from my Roth IRA and I was OK with that.For the second year, he said as a return customer, the fee will be less than the previous year because it’s already on file but not; he charged me $380.00 for a single income tax return fee (with NO claim dependents and just have the property tax).As he said it cost more because of his overhead cost (included payroll, update software, etc.).He should inform the customer what his final fee should be before doing the tax preparation, so the customer can decide to do the tax preparation with him or not, and don’t charge extra at the end without notifying to the customer.
