First United Bank – OKC Stockyards – Legit or Scam?

I came across a critical review of First United Bank – OKC Stockyards on a Scam Reporting website – DirtyScam.com, titled ‘Kind Of Communication’.

DirtyScam allows anonymous submission of complaints from angry consumers and victims of scams. Since the website is hosted offshore (probably in Russia or India), we take this (negative) review against First United Bank – OKC Stockyards with a pinch of salt.

Here is what the review says –

I’d like to start this review by dismissing the idea that I’m just one of those customers you can’t make happy, or a person that posts negative reviews on a regular basis.I have never posted a review, until now. I recognize my experience was based specifically on one employee, but I don’t believe this kind of communication from a “professional” should be accepted.Following is a quoted, unsolicited conversation between myself and Steven Roberts, a local Austin agent. When he contacted me for the first time I had already told the real estate agent I’d found someone else.I told Mr, Roberts I had also had a loan agent I was happy with and thanked him for his time. This is our conversation immediately following that email: “Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.I can still work with you even if you have another agent. As a consumer it’s important that you shop rates because they do very from lender to lender. Also lenders charge a lot of different fees and closing costs.Just like when you shop for a car insurance you should shop for your mortgage rates. It will take me about 30 minutes to give you some quotes so when you’re ready just reach out to me.It will not hurt your credit to have more than one person look at the loan.” -Steven Roberts”We have the most competitive FHA rates in the market right now. Let me show you!”- Steven Roberts”I’m sure you didn’t mean for it to come off that way, but I do know how lenders work and of course I shopped around before making a decision.I may be a preschool teacher, but I’ve also owned, managed, and rented out properties for nine years.Your need to explain “the process” feels condescending, although I’m sure it’s your usual intro.Kindly respect my no thank you.” -Myself “Your response makes absolutely no sense.Me offering you competitive rates and an opportunity to compare my loan products and communicate the process clearly and effective is condescending? Have you ever considered I don’t know you and your real estate history based on your email address? Have you considered some people get taken advantage of and are not explained all of their options? Sounds like you may have a few issues.Glad we won’t be working together. ” -Steven Roberts Maybe I was overly blunt, maybe having basic information relayed to me as if I don’t know how life works (when I just made an offer on a house, no less) got a little too aggravating today.I really just wanted them to stop calling/emailing me and respect my decision. Regardless, speaking to me that way wasn’t necessary and it’s no way to do business. If you choose to go with First United and you’re in the Austin area, I recommend avoiding this agent in particular.
