Halsted Financial Services – Legit or Scam?

I came across a critical review of Halsted Financial Services on a Scam Reporting website – DirtyScam.com, titled ‘Halsted Financial is Torturing and Unreliable’.

DirtyScam allows anonymous submission of complaints from angry consumers and victims of scams. Since the website is hosted offshore (probably in Russia or India), we take this (negative) review against Halsted Financial Services with a pinch of salt.

Here is what the review says –

I was ID theft by some person who stole my id and made a purchase of $2000 worth furniture at California Furniture Gallery. If you ask me, I have never heard of any company with that name and have never visited to one ever in my life. After a year of that incidence, I got a call from Halsted Financial Services telling me that I can settle the loan amount for $1000.I was furious. I sent them the copy of the id theft proof with all the related documents in support to go through the situation. As it wasn’t me, I must get the waive off for the amount that was spent on my id. I also sent them the real id proof and asked them to go through the matter.I also asked them to send me a copy of purchase receipt as well as the delivery information of the order made. However, they never replied back with any proof that the purchase was ever made. Again, after 16 months, I started getting calls from the debt guys who are harassing me for nothing.I think that the entire story was made up. These guys aren’t legit. They keep calling me at odd hours and the ring goes on and on. They have details of my landline number, my cell phone number. They even know where I work and sometimes, the calls land to the office landline searching for my name. They have even threatened my relatives who stay in different states. They will not hear anything whatever I have to say. They will go on and one threatening me as if they belong to some law firm. They will say that I am being served or pursued and anything that makes them feel that I will be scared.I have written to all the appropriate agencies and authorities and will be following up with them until I get to the bottom of this mess. These guys seem scammers. These people are frauds. Just by saying that the amount was spent on my name proves nothing. I am not among those people who pay out of fear. I am not going to give a single penny.I even checked the internet for similar scam from the company and found a lot of them. These people are calling many people around the country for the amount that was never borrowed. I have proofs that I never had any contacts with this company or the one with which they claim the furniture was bought. If you ever get a call from Halsted Financial Services, you know what to do. These guys are liars. They will try to scare you with whatever they can. They will raise their voice and can even make calls to your relatives and friends. But, be aware, they are just scammers and cannot do anything apart from making random calls.Do not pay them at all. These people are frauds and should be served.
