I came across a critical review of Joseph Becker on a Scam Reporting website – DirtyScam.com, titled ‘Stay away from Joseph Becker Tax Services’.
DirtyScam allows anonymous submission of complaints from angry consumers and victims of scams. Since the website is hosted offshore (probably in Russia or India), we take this (negative) review against Joseph Becker with a pinch of salt.

We had to change our tax consultant and Joseph Becker of 1040 Tax Services came to our rescue. My husband and I were running out of time and were at the edge of the last few days of our tax calculations. Joseph Becker convinced us for providing the necessary assistance and asked for our documents.We did as he said. My husband and I handed over all our corporate as well as personal taxes details and related documents in February 2015. We thought we were sorted. However, this illusion was short-lived.After few days, we wanted to check the proceedings in the tax filing and asked Joseph Becker about the updates. He told us that he was doing what was required and we need not worry. He also promised to provide the acknowledgement once the taxes are paid. However, we kept ringing him but he either was busy or not available in the town.His activities started bothering us and we felt as if he does not take his work seriously. He would sound stoned and will act to forget every last word we had. We made numerous attempts to reach him but was worthless.After a lot of effort and continuous follow-ups, Joseph Becker sent us the snapshots of our corporate taxes and just by looking at it, we knew there were problems.We consulted the other tax accountant and in no time, he outlined all the obvious mistakes. We decided to change our accountant and asked for all our documents which he completely ignored. We were running out of time and wanted our taxes to be paid on time which was not possible through Joseph Becker.He tried to convince us but we had already made up our mind. We kept on sending emails and dialled his number several times a day, but he did not respond.We had to ask the police department for the assistance. One of the police officers escorted us to his office as we wanted him to intervene. But he did not open the door and we were able to hear his voice on phone.That painted a very ugly picture and we knew that we were scammed. We later filed a report against him for conning us. Joseph Becker is shrewd and knows how to get away with it. He has his family stationed in Philippines and works in USA to avoid any chance of trouble his family can get into.This is a cleaver move but not all customers will trust you blindly like we did. I wish we could have used our instincts to see through him as he seemed fishy since we first met him.I also read about him on internet after we were tricked and we found out evidences that he is a crook and have fooled many other victims in past. I crave for justice and want him behind bars soon. He is dangerous and not for the outside world. Stay away from him.
