I came across a critical review of Joseph Smith Guaranteed Rate on a Scam Reporting website – DirtyScam.com, titled ‘Stressful Experience’.
DirtyScam allows anonymous submission of complaints from angry consumers and victims of scams. Since the website is hosted offshore (probably in Russia or India), we take this (negative) review against Joseph Smith Guaranteed Rate with a pinch of salt.
Here is what the review says –
I had a terrible and stressful experience with Joseph Smith Guaranteed Rate. I first submitted an application online.Their web site matched me with Sammy Iliopoulos, with whom I communicated via email a few times about my finances, etc. Then, he said the computer system actually matched me with Austin Reed and had me work with Austin instead.I re-commmunicated to Austin about my finances. To make the story short, I was basically asked to send in paperwork after paperwork to verify my business income, and my teaching contracts at a college.I just didnt feel either loan officer really paid any attention to my situation.Because its more difficult than others, they didnt seem like they wanted to bother with me.I got so frustrated, this is what Id sent Austin in my last communication:”It honestly just seems like a constant uphill battle with you guys. Ive already explained to you (and the other loan officer) about my business situation.I also didnt appreciate being passed around from one loan officer to another, and I never got a copy of my credit report which was promised to me before I agreed to doing the credit check, despite having asked multiple times.I have a large down payment, excellent credit and solid work history. If Im not a desirable candidate for you guys, so be it. You may close my file.I think this place is fine if you have a simple financial situation. But, if you have a business, or have contracted work/income, you shouldnt bother. They wont take their time in talking to you or try to understand your situation, despite how much down payment you have or how good your credit is.
