I came across a critical review of Mainsail Mortgage on a Scam Reporting website – DirtyScam.com, titled ‘The Dealings Were Unpleasant’.
DirtyScam allows anonymous submission of complaints from angry consumers and victims of scams. Since the website is hosted offshore (probably in Russia or India), we take this (negative) review against Mainsail Mortgage with a pinch of salt.

After about 6 months of dealing with Mainsail Mortgage, I had to pull the plug. Just about every way possible the dealings were unpleasant.In the end, I was caught up in a pissing contest between their loan underwriter, and the appraisal company they selected.As I had already sold my previous home in anticipation of closing on the new home soon after, I was forced to spend weeks in a hotel at continuously growing personal expense.Some of the delays were caused by the builder (a business partner of theirs), but the deal proved impossible for them to complete in any reasonable time frame.I give you fair warning! Dont endure the frustration that I did. Find any other company that you can!

It is difficult to ascertain whether Mainsail Mortgage is a Scam, or Legit, based on this single review. In the coming weeks/days, I will try to research deeper into Mainsail Mortgage, analyze and list more critical reviews and identify a pattern (or lack of) to substantiate the claim mentioned above.
Regardless, until then, we give the benefit of doubt to the reviewer and list Mainsail Mortgage as someone you need to avoid (for now).
