Marcum LLP – Legit or Scam?

I came across a critical review of Marcum LLP on a Scam Reporting website – DirtyScam.com, titled ‘Not A Great Accounting Firm’.

DirtyScam allows anonymous submission of complaints from angry consumers and victims of scams. Since the website is hosted offshore (probably in Russia or India), we take this (negative) review against Marcum LLP with a pinch of salt.

Here is what the review says –

Marcum LLP Is Not a great accounting firm. High turnover. Has a lot of old technology compared to its competitors.Service is dependent on the partner being in the office.Lower level employees can only handle day to day tasks but are not given much say in making any decisions without running it at the top.The firm also had a serious IT hack a while back. I was only told about it after speaking to an employee.I heard that many of the senior partners are from Hood and Strong.I read the reviews from their page, turns out Barbara Bond and a few other partners don’t have great reputations from reading those reviews.I also dealt with Steve Boultbee, wasn’t impressed. He was a manager.Now he is a director. Not sure of what.The firm didn’t seem to have that many employees under him.I suspect they promoted him to give him a title. My two cents. Take what you want from it.Mike C’s review is total BS.

It is difficult to ascertain whether Marcum LLP is a Scam, or Legit, based on this single review. In the coming weeks/days, I will try to research deeper into Marcum LLP, analyze and list more critical reviews and identify a pattern (or lack of) to substantiate the claim mentioned above.

Regardless, until then, we give the benefit of doubt to the reviewer and list Marcum LLP as someone you need to avoid (for now).
