I came across a critical review of Provident Funding on a Scam Reporting website – DirtyScam.com, titled ‘Terrible Lender!!!!!’.
DirtyScam allows anonymous submission of complaints from angry consumers and victims of scams. Since the website is hosted offshore (probably in Russia or India), we take this (negative) review against Provident Funding with a pinch of salt.
Here is what the review says –
Terrible Lender! Provident Funding company takes the Best of the Best for loans. They only take people with high scores etc “The cream of the crop type candidates. Wouldnt you think you would receive any type of courteous customer service???No way! I held a loan with this company for years. I was never late on a payment and the loan was set to 6.5% fixed.Every time I had any questions about the loan to customer support representative the “Air of the person was arrogant, cad and vindictive at best. When I enquired about the Home Advantage program it slid even worse on their reluctance to answer questions and then give a run around answer or just transfer you into the automated system. After months and months of waiting for them to determine “If they were going to participate in the program the government laid steps to reveal lenders like this. Then all of a sudden I was led to the mitigation department for service. Once there I was sent the paperwork for admittance into the program. Then months later after that was completed and submitted they replied with a payment that was two hundred dollars higher a month than my original monthly loan payment!WHAT A JOKE! Going through a refinance they sat on a payoff quote for 3 weeks and would not return calls by my broker for days at a time. Then tried to charge me late fee and a service fee on top of that.I ended up refinancing through MetLife at 4.87% fixed since I have excellent credit and perfect payment record and the house appraised.I strongly advise anyone who is refinancing or originating a loan to communicate to their broker or bank not to sell or process a loan for Provident Funding!I would classify Provident Funding a Predator Funder (Same initials-should have put that together in beginning!)Who will do anything to squeeze the most amount of money in interest fees at all cost no matter if loan defaults or becomes delinquent for their benefit. They tried to charge me late fees during the payoff process when loan was in funding and a $20 processing fee for making my last payment over the phone! Please dont do business with this company. Youll regret it if you have to ever speak to this lender for any reason because they will not like to speaking to you.
