Rowlett Mortgage Landing – Legit or Scam?

I came across a critical review of Rowlett Mortgage Landing on a Scam Reporting website – DirtyScam.com, titled ‘Horrible Customer Service’.

DirtyScam allows anonymous submission of complaints from angry consumers and victims of scams. Since the website is hosted offshore (probably in Russia or India), we take this (negative) review against Rowlett Mortgage Landing with a pinch of salt.

Here is what the review says –

Full Disclosure- My husband and I were approved and closed our loan with Rowlett Mortgage Landing, our experience throughout the process is the basis of my review.Applying was easy, things seemed to be going fine at first when we had an accepted offer on the property is when things got tricky. The staff at Rowlett was completely unprofessional and rude and they lacked basic communication skills. We reached out to clarify certain details on our application, and many times had to ask the same question several times before receiving a response. Many times we emailed the office with no response until getting our realtor involved or making several phone calls.Katherine seemed to always blame the Customer for the shortcomings of her company, absolutely horrible customer service. In the final week of closing, it was discovered that Rowlett had made an oversight on our application and almost caused our entire application to fall through which had nothing to do with us or the seller, her company just failed to read the original listing and documents attached! At this point, we were ready to bail from her company but we only had about 5 days before we had to be out of our current residence so we hesitantly continued on. Finally, our realtor and the seller’s agent got involved and demanded the file be closed and our loan closed 4 days later.Overall, I do not recommend this company, the owner herself does not appreciate the business of her Customers, and her staff follows her lead. Katherine has a history of blaming the Customer for their bad experience, which is completely unprofessional. When buying a home, especially as a first-time homebuyer, it’s important to find a lender who is understanding, communicates well, and appreciates their customer, Rowlett does not meet these characteristics.
