I came across a critical review of The Childrens Clinic on a Scam Reporting website – DirtyScam.com, titled ‘They weren't given Tamaflu in place of people’.
DirtyScam allows anonymous submission of complaints from angry consumers and victims of scams. Since the website is hosted offshore (probably in Russia or India), we take this (negative) review against The Childrens Clinic with a pinch of salt.
Here is what the review says –
If you can see Dr Tulip then great! Hes fantastic in every aspect you want out of a doctor for your children. Hes great with kids of all ages! If you have to see anyone else.Specifically Dr. Legenza go to a doc in a box/urgent care! Or anywhere else.We rarely go to the doc except for well baby-child visits or when my kids have been very ill! My four kids have all loved Dr. Tulip as have my husband and I.Up until the last two years it was mostly well child visits then last year my then 14 year old got strep for the first time that turned into 5 times back to back then to an ENT to get his tonsils out.Dr Tulip was great every time. Twice we had to see different docs which we were fine with except that they were not great- instead of thinking, wow you have four kids and in 14 years have rarely brought your kids this guy must be really sick- we got annoyed doctors who talked to us like idiots and explained he couldnt have strep again, he just got over antibiotics. Well he did have strep again. Then today after my daughter has had a cold since Wednesday night I called and talked to a nurse who was very nice as most all of the staff I have encountered has been.I know it has been a terrible flu season so we have been on top of natural immune boosting and good hand washing- everything we can do to stay healthy!I have a daycare at home so we are careful to be aware of symptoms of the flu versus a cold.My daughter obviously had a cold that started with a low grade fever then Sunday spiked a high fever and non-stop, keep her up all night coughing.I was more worried it had become bronchitis and I just wanted the kid to be able to breath! She is usually in gymnastics and dance 6-8 hours a week, now shes a zombie on the couch holding her stuffed animal from when she was a baby/toddler years with a box of tissues and a bag to put them in.The nurse said to bring her in, they could give her something.Unfortunately Dr Tulip is gone so we saw Dr Legenza. I figured it would be fine, my kid is miserable!Shell want to help her feel better right? Well- no. She wanted to treat and street. She did not care if she mis-diagnosed or if she helped my daughter at all.She has nothing but openings so Im not sure what her rush was. She didnt mention her 141/91 blood pressure, dismissed any question by my husband. Insisted it was the flu.My husband asked to be swabbed to be sure to which she said it was too far along so wouldnt matter, my husband said it mattered to us as we have three other children and a daycare. She was clearly annoyed but did the swab. My husband told her how much she was coughing and asked if they could do anything for her for that and she said, “No.After some prodding she gave her some cough syrup thats a joke from what the pharmacist says. She said it wasnt pneumonia but didnt mention bronchitis. My daughter told her how much her chest and throat hurt.My husband told her too since she didnt seem to notice or care and she responded with, “yeah, thats what happens when you cough.Thankfully we forced the issue of the swab because it is not the flu! Thats right- she was happy to dump it on the flu and not even really check my daughter out.She said, its just flu like, probably viral bronchitis. So I guess her chest doesnt sound great.I wonder how many of her patients have been misdiagnosed this flu season, I hope they werent given Tamaflu in place of people who really needed it.Especially considering there can be serious side effects to Tamaflu. So if you care about your childs care and want someone to talk to them like they care about them and actually want to help them and talk to you with an ounce of respect then see Dr Tulip or go elsewhere, at the very least avoid Legenza. We will likely see someone else for my daughter.
