The Tax Office – Legit or Scam?

I came across a critical review of The Tax Office on a Scam Reporting website – DirtyScam.com, titled ‘Wasn't Impressed’.

DirtyScam allows anonymous submission of complaints from angry consumers and victims of scams. Since the website is hosted offshore (probably in Russia or India), we take this (negative) review against The Tax Office with a pinch of salt.

Wasn’t impressed. With the name “tax office” you’d think they were experts in their field. Don’t believe it!I brought in a somewhat involved tax situation and they gave me back what I easily could do on my own in 20 mins.When pressed with questions about my return and the tax code/laws in general they both gave me blank stares with I don’t know answers.I honestly don’t think they have been trained or lack tax preparation experience.Use extreme caution, I wouldn’t go here unless you have something simple that can be done with TurboTax or need your 1040EZ filled out for you.

It is difficult to ascertain whether The Tax Office is a Scam, or Legit, based on this single review. In the coming weeks/days, I will try to research deeper into The Tax Office, analyze and list more critical reviews and identify a pattern (or lack of) to substantiate the claim mentioned above.

Regardless, until then, we give the benefit of doubt to the reviewer and list The Tax Office as someone you need to avoid (for now).
