Valutante Appraisals – Legit or Scam?

I came across a critical review of Valutante Appraisals on a Scam Reporting website – DirtyScam.com, titled ‘Home Had No Landscape Just Dirt’.

DirtyScam allows anonymous submission of complaints from angry consumers and victims of scams. Since the website is hosted offshore (probably in Russia or India), we take this (negative) review against Valutante Appraisals with a pinch of salt.

Here is what the review says –

This young lady gave our home an appraisal. She looked up the cheapest selling home with in 2 miles and put that down as our value.She said that values are not going up in the Bay Area  and that our home was EXACTLY the same as the home that she comped it to.I researched and found out that that home had no landscape just dirt. Unlike our landscaped yard with extra patio and court yard.That the other house had a garage that was not built with permits unlike our garage.That the other house was a fixer upper unlike our home which was a well maintained home with remodel done in 90’s.The young lady does not have the knowledge nor maturity to be doing appraisals, rather she gives her opinion.She stated that the other higher priced homes were remodeled with new kitchens……. Well a new kitchen is $9k and I don’t believe that would raise the cost value $100k.She may have liked it better but it isn’t a matter of what she likes or not it is based on the condition as well as other facts.Other comparable homes much like ours were over $100k then what she estimated on ours. We will be disputing her appraisal.The company that sent her out wouldn’t budge on her appraisal and I had another company do it at a whooping $300k above her appraisal.

It is difficult to ascertain whether Valutante Appraisals is a Scam, or Legit, based on this single review. In the coming weeks/days, I will try to research deeper into Valutante Appraisals, analyze and list more critical reviews and identify a pattern (or lack of) to substantiate the claim mentioned above.

Regardless, until then, we give the benefit of doubt to the reviewer and list Valutante Appraisals as someone you need to avoid (for now).
