I came across a critical review of Washington Trust Bank on a Scam Reporting website – DirtyScam.com, titled ‘So Horrible’.
DirtyScam allows anonymous submission of complaints from angry consumers and victims of scams. Since the website is hosted offshore (probably in Russia or India), we take this (negative) review against Washington Trust Bank with a pinch of salt.
Here is what the review says –
So in Aug. I had an awful SNAFU happen with Ameriprise financial, so horrible I had to file a complaint with the Idaho Dept. of Finance. Its a long story, but basically my money was taken from me ( like everything I have), and it took me two week to get it back.I am not working right now, and have child to support and pretty much get jack shit for child support (thanks Idaho laws). So basically, I needed it to live.In THAT whole mess, dealing with Washington Trust was a nightmare. They gave VERY few shits about helping me get it back, told me it wasnt their job, and the MANAGER SCREAMED at me yes RAISED HIS VOICE AT ME, screaming that I wasnt even a client, when I still had two accounts with them.He was upset that I was taking the plow share of it elsewhere. So I guess that makes me not a person or a client when I decide that your bank isnt making me money, and your guy that is your investments person cant even return my phone calls. So thats kind of on you, dude. That manager? Still works there.Having worked in customer service heavy jobs most of my life, I cant imagine treating a customer like that and expecting to have a (high paying!) job .I also in that mess spoke to a head honcho at their head quarters in Spokane and she got an attitude with me when completely unnecessary and ended up HANGING UP ON ME.A HEAD. PERSON. UNBELIEVABLE!Fast forward to now. My credit card info. was somehow compromised, and I was the victim of fraud. Someone spent over $100 at a CVS pharmacy in Nevada on my tab.I was promised that Id be reimbursed by the bank in two days time.Nope. try half a month. So basically, someone stole my FDIC insured money, and the bank (even though I didnt spend that money), is not reimbursing me for half a month. So WOW! Thank god I didnt like need that to feed my kid or anything I will be filing a complaint with the dept of finance about that also.Oh! and not to mention.I worked with one of their investments people for a LONG time.He told me to go home and “do my research on what companies Id be interested in investing with.So I did, and it was VERY timely, lengthy , crappy adulting. I came back only to have him say there WERE no options, and he ONLY dealt with one company. You have GOT to be fucking KIDDING me. I guess Im supposed to play dumb and most people just trust someone like that and dont even do their homework?Nothing pisses me off more in life than not being taken seriously, and think that bank takes me as a joke, and its customers for granted.I didnt think there could be worse than Wells Fargo, but holy shit, man. At least wells Fargo is concerned with things like credit card safety and reimburses you immediately.
