Wasserman & Shuff Certified Public Accountants – Legit or Scam?

I came across a critical review of Wasserman & Shuff Certified Public Accountants on a Scam Reporting website – DirtyScam.com, titled ‘Horrible Tax Experience’.

DirtyScam allows anonymous submission of complaints from angry consumers and victims of scams. Since the website is hosted offshore (probably in Russia or India), we take this (negative) review against Wasserman & Shuff Certified Public Accountants with a pinch of salt.

Exceptionally Horrible Tax Experience with Wasserman & Shuff Certified Public Accountants.Over the phone they seemed very knowledgeable so we trusted our tax returns to them.It took over 2 months go through the files, we wound up having to file late because they missed things.They “forgot” to put in two deductions which were in the paperwork we gave them.They didn’t even catch it – We did. And had to have them changed.Our taxes are actually pretty basic with a few rental properties, so it wasn’t a large tax issue but they were just really unorganized.We dealt with Dan Wasserman, who is the owner.Our tax experience was so poor with Wasserman Accountants that we had another accountant look over our taxes.They were shocked at how poorly it was done.They had to contact the State and the IRS because they left out an entire rental property deduction from a property we had sold.This review is not personal. I’m certain that they are nice people.But they did a terrible job and I would never recommend them because of this.It cost us a lot of extra money, time and headache by having Wasserman Accountants do our taxes.They missed really important deductions, took a long amount of time and were VERY EXPENSIVE.At the end of it, I wasn’t even mad – just honestly sad and exhausted. It should have been a simple process but it was not.We had to go through and do revisions of their work with the new accountant.The good news is, we moved on to a great accountant who had more experience and was more through.THEY SAVED US OVER $3,600 OVER THE WASSERMAN TAX ACCOUNTING THE SAME YEAR BY DOING THE REVISIONS OF THEIR MISTAKES!So, in the end, our experience had a happy ending – but only because we moved and had their mistakes fixed.
